Abstract

VENGOA, Hugo Fazio. Globalization and international relations in the framework of a global nascent time. anal.polit. [online]. 2006, vol.19, n.56, pp.51-71. ISSN 0121-4705.

What is globalization and how can the transformations it has produced worldwide be interpreted? This article suggests that to understand the roots of the current changes one must consider the concept of globalization and how this process is bringing about change in the world. The transformations taking place in the field of international relations suggest that it is time to replace the idealized or normalized Westphalian world view with a more encompassing perspective, one that is richer and more complex, such as that of globalized social formation, which, as well as making evident the historical ties between distant nations, alludes to the rise of the "national/international" as a transnational social dimension.

Keywords : globalization; international relations; society.
