Abstract

PINTO OCAMPO, María Teresa. On How To Achieve Political Significance From Downwards: Coca Growers' Mobilizations In Bolivia (1987- 2001). anal.polit. [online]. 2008, vol.21, n.64, pp.40-56. ISSN 0121-4705.

The present text displays a reflection around the coca growers mobilizations that have taken place in Cochabamba's tropic between 1987 and 2001 analyzing the "structures of mobilization" that develops thanks to the processes of colonization carried out in the zone and to the formation of the pasents' unions. Also, The article organizes the coca growers fights in different stages, characterizing each according to the elements of the confrontacional political speech (for the case, of the coca growers and of the government), the repertoires of the confrontation, the answers of the State, the confrontation degrees, among others.
