Abstract

DIAZ JARAMILLO, José Abelardo. The Independence and heroes in the speeches of the colombian left: Claims, adjustments and dissidents readings. anal.polit. [online]. 2011, vol.24, n.71, pp.29-46. ISSN 0121-4705.

This article examines how some expressions of the armed left Colombia and unarmed, approached the issue of the Independence as a historical event. Considering the amplitude of the issue, we focus on the claim of the heroes who participated in the separation process of the Spanish empire, we have as a central problem the way like the past was incorporated into the dynamics of the left proselytizing. Thus, we focus on the political speeches and imaginary, considering that there can be tracked our object of interest. The exercise allows to visualize dissidentsreadings and those made by the official sectors over the independence past and to illustrate that if the topic seems to have been belatedly appreciated by the left of the country, it was not always absent in their thought.

Keywords : Independence; heroes; Colombian left; Bolívar; Santander.
