Abstract

CREUS, Nicolás. THE WEIGHT OF WALTZIAN IMAGES IN ARGENTINA'S RELATIONSHIP WITH THE INTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL SYSTEM. EVOLUTION AND IMPLICATIONS FROM THE TIME OF DEFAULT TO THE PRESENT. anal.polit. [online]. 2015, vol.28, n.84, pp.155-166. ISSN 0121-4705.  https://doi.org/10.15446/anpol.v28n84.54644.

After the 2001 default, Argentina’s relationship with the international financial system entered in a gradual process of reversal on the weight of the images proposed by Waltz as explanatory variables. From this moment, it is possible to note an increase in the influence of the first image in Argentina’s international decisions vis-à-vis a decrease in the consideration of external factors linked to the third image, predominant at the beginning. This imbalance can explain some of the mistakes committed by Argentina in the management of international relations during the considered period.

Keywords : Argentina; international financial system; images of international relations.
