Abstract

BORJA, Miguel. HISTORIOGRAPHY OF THE WAR IN COLOMBIA IN THE 19TH CENTURY. anal.polit. [online]. 2015, vol.28, n.85, pp.173-188. ISSN 0121-4705.  https://doi.org/10.15446/anpol.v28n85.56253.

This paper presents a literature review regarding the historiography of the war in Colombia during the 19th century, emphasizing narrative history, social and economic history, and cultural history. The dominance of narrative history among the first wave of researchers is highlighted. These researchers basically inherited writings created from memories of the war. The paper also emphasizes the role of the essay in what was denominated "new history" and on recent trends of study that aim to complete works with greater scope and meaning.

Keywords : historiography of war; the war in Colombia; war memories.
