Abstract
HINCAPIE, Sandra and LOPEZ, Jairo Antonio. TRANSNATIONAL LEGAL ACTIVISM, THE ENVIRONMENT AND DIVERSITY: AGENDAS AND COLLECTIVE ACTION SUPPORT NETWORKS IN THE INTER-AMERICAN HUMAN RIGHTS SYSTEM. anal.polit. [online]. 2017, vol.30, n.91, pp.18-36. ISSN 0121-4705. https://doi.org/10.15446/anpol.v31n91.70262.
This article analyzes transnational legal activism by regional collective action networks within the Inter-American Human Rights System. The development of an empirical informational data base dealing with activism by non-governmental organizations participating in the Inter-American System facilitated identification of the progress, relevant actors, mobilization strategies and repertoires that drive transnational networks. That, in turn, permitted demonstration of how networks comprised of organizations defending the environment and sexual diversity have established strong and regionally coordinated links with continent wide impact seeking inclusion of new human rights issues among evolving international priorities.
