In this paper, we present a comparison between the cocalero movement in the nineties and the social mobilization related with the illicit crops in the second presidential period of Juan Manuel Santos. We show the ruptures and continuities that we observe in the peasant identities in the two moments, based on the demands and identity vindications. The article is divided in four parts. In the first, we explain the methodology, in the second; we compare the two-cocalero movement from their repertoires, demands and adversaries. In the third part, we center our analysis in the social organizations that back up the social mobilization in the two periods. Finally, we present our conclusion.
