Abstract
PEREZ SALAZAR, Mauricio. LA ECONOMÍA EN EL PANORAMA DE LAS CIENCIAS SOCIALES. VARIACIONES SOBRE UN TEMA DE BEJARANO. Cuad. Econ. [online]. 2004, vol.23, n.40, pp.143-173. ISSN 0121-4772.
Even though economics may be one of the social sciences, the relationship between it and the rest of them is often perceived as being problematical. This essay takes some of Jesús Antonio Bejarano´s later work as its starting point for exploring this relationship. Following a presentation of what can be considered as the foundations of the economic model of the individual and human interaction, it analyses Bejarano´s criticisms of economics as being apolitical, non-institutional and amoral. It points out how Bejarano suggests that the way towards revitalising economic thought necessarily involves intermingle with other areas of knowledge such as political science, administration and philosophy. It discuses two possible models for such an approach: economic imperialism and hybridisation. It concludes by making some reflections about the points of convergence between economics and law.
Keywords : the economy and other social sciences.
