The need for theoretical pluralism and the history of economic thought as the driving force behind such methodological perspective arises from current economics' lack of support and empirical justification. This article proposes a view of the history of economic thought adapted for fulfilling this function, given that perspectives concerning the history of economic thought are insufficient for fluffing such demands from an orthodox viewpoint.
