Abstract
MARTINEZ, Héctor Adrián. APROPIACIÓN DE CONOCIMIENTO EN COLOMBIA. EL CASO DE LOS CONTRATOS DE IMPORTACIÓN DE TECNOLOGÍA. Cuad. Econ. [online]. 2004, vol.23, n.41, pp.195-228. ISSN 0121-4772.
Given that economically valuable knowledge is important for the growth of nations, and that part of this resides in tacit knowledge, this article examines the type of knowledge which Colombian companies were importing from 1991-2000. Two perspectives are used for analysing factors having a bearing on the decision to import technology: descriptive statistics and a Probit model of common slopes. It is concluded that importing technology in Colombia has not followed a defined trend, that contracting has been dominated by large companies and multinationals and that imported knowledge is codified and not tacit, this being important for successfully adapting foreign technology.
