Abstract

ORTIZ, Carlos Humberto; CASTRO, Javier Andrés  and  BADILLO, Erika Raquel. INDUSTRIALIZATION AND GROWTH: THRESHOLD EFFECTS OF TECHNOLOGICAL INTEGRATION. Cuad. Econ. [online]. 2009, vol.28, n.51, pp.75-97. ISSN 0121-4772.

Countries enjoy the benefits of industrialization for economic growth after surpassing a certain threshold of technological integration in manufacturing. Some available data do not reject this hypothesis. This feature of development is consistent with the observed gaps in long-run growth rates between rich and poor economies.

Keywords : threshold of technological integration; industrialization; growth divergence; education.
