Abstract

DURAN PERALTA, Julián. APRENDIZAJE PRODUCTIVO EN LA INDUSTRIA MANUFACTURERA DE COLOMBIA. UN ESTUDIO A NIVEL DE SECTORES. Cuad. Econ. [online]. 2010, vol.29, n.52, pp.79-102. ISSN 0121-4772.

In order to analyze the effects of learning by doing in Colombian industry, sector-level production functions are estimated to four CIIU digits using panel data models. The results show that productive experience, represented by accumulated production per worker, has important positive effects on the present productivity of the industry. Moreover, it is established that other factors, such as skilled labor, the modernity of capital, and technical change in the economy as a whole, have an impact on the performance of the manufacturing sector.

Keywords : learning by doing; production functions; industry; panel data.
