Abstract

MESA SALAMANCA, Camilo Andrés  and  JUNCA RODRIGUEZ, Gustavo Adolfo. ANáLISIS DE REDUCCIÓN DE LA FECUNDIDAD EN COLOMBIA: MODELO DE DETERMINANTES PRÓXIMOS . Cuad. Econ. [online]. 2011, vol.30, n.54, pp.127-150. ISSN 0121-4772.

The process of fertility decline is a modern phenomenon of society. As explained there are different conceptions of the theory of demographic transition and are based traditionally on an economic vision, even when there are contributions from other social sciences. This document incorporates in part said theories and analyzes the fertility decline in the case of Colombia using the model of proximate determinants of fertility, following the proposal made by Bongaarts (1978) and Gertler and Molyneaux (1994).

Keywords : fertility; demographic transition; proximate determinants; economic development.
