Abstract

URIBE-LOPEZ, Mauricio. ESTILO DE DESARROLLO Y SESGO ANTICAMPESINO EN COLOMBIA. Cuad. Econ. [online]. 2013, vol.32, n.60, pp.467-497. ISSN 0121-4772.

Taking primary goods as a yardstick to evaluate styles of development in Colombia, the authors argue that the prevailing model displays an inverted Rawlsian path whose main features are: the narrowness of the market and anti-peasant bias. The article explores the mechanisms which reinforce the breakdown of the polity and bolster the continuation of war. These mechanisms may -if the current peace negotiations lead to the signing of an agreement- impart a decidedly violent character to the resulting "peace". They have hitherto provided manifold opportunities to the various armed competitors of the State.

Keywords : Development style; civil war; Colombia; primary goods; peasants.
