Abstract

CASTILLO, Maribel; CASTRO, Javier Andrés; RAFFO, Leonardo  and  MORA, Jhon James. Matching in Valle del Cauca’s labour market. Cuad. Econ. [online]. 2018, vol.37, n.74, pp.523-554. ISSN 0121-4772.  https://doi.org/10.15446/cuad.econ.v37n74.60708.

This article presents new estimations for Valle del Cauca’s matching function using information from the SENA’s Public Service record between the first quarter of 2008 and the fourth quarter of 2014. The results show that efficiency in the matching processes in Valle del Cauca cannot only be attained through improvements in the search processes. This is because it also depends on the presence of a strong and traditional-employment component that is stable over time, and evidence is provided of a structural mismatch (technical change biased towards professional occupations).
