Abstract

MONTOYA RESTREPO, Iván Alonso  and  MONTOYA RESTREPO, Luz Alexandra. Strategic management and its application in complex systems and environmental management. Innovar [online]. 2003, vol.13, n.21, pp.81-103. ISSN 0121-5051.

Strategic management has undergone a dynamic process within which different approaches have been constructed ranging from models for intervening in reality to complex interaction approaches related to constructing and recognising strategies contributing towards an organisation’s survival. Conceptual currents tend to offer different degrees of response adjusted to the production sector’s particular needs and specific problems regarding decisiontaking. This document explores the search for an object of study defined within strategic management, advances in understanding it, possibilities inherent in the area’s composition and the basic definition of the fields of study for preliminary recognition of an exploratory map of approaches to be used later on. The problem of strategic environmental management is presented as a later development, having a platform in the same strategic management.

Keywords : Strategic management; strategic environmental management; conceptual currents; decision-taking.
