Role-play based on a historical case of rivalry between the English and Dutch East India Companies is presented in this article. The case serves as a pretext for showing students the use of theories, approaches and strategic tools. As the case is constructed as role-play, it allows involving students in analysing the situation and decision-making. The expected replies are offered to the students to facilitate their application in class.
