MANRIQUE P, Helia Lizette. Management in the new millennium and neuro-linguistic programming (NLP). Innovar [online]. 2003, vol.13, n.22, pp.179-186. ISSN 0121-5051.
This article’s objective is to present reflection about the new role placed by people within organisations and the importance of companies developing this underused potential regarding human intelligence. A brief look at traditional approaches and concepts regarding humans’ roles is taken, coming to the conclusion that these models are not valid in a society of knowledge/learning because individuals who are reflexive, autonomous and able to use their own brains are required to ensure their competitiveness. The human-organisation relationship is described, emphasising the need for seeing people not as machines but as living human beings within a living organisation. Neuro-linguistic Programming is then emphasised as representing a tool leading to greater understanding of hums beings’ behaviour through communication and language.
