Abstract

RODRIGUEZ CORDOBA, María del Pilar  and  DIAZ BEDOYA, Andrés Felipe. Codes of ethics: the organisational nature of collective construction. The case of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Manizales. Innovar [online]. 2004, vol.14, n.24, pp.39-58. ISSN 0121-5051.

This article opens with a theoretical discussion about ethics and company ethics to support the authors' position regarding codes of ethics contributing towards collective construction of organisational character. It then proposes a participative methodology designed during previous work done by research group members into Entrepreneurial and Social Ethics (Ethos) for drawing up companies' codes of ethics. The example of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Manizales is then cited as it has implemented an integral code of ethics programme.

Keywords : Ethical codes; company ethics; organisational nature; organisational culture; social respon-sibility; interest groups.
