Abstract

MONTOYA R., Luz Alexandra; CASTELLANOS, Óscar Femando  and  MONTOYA R., Iván Alonso. Genetic management: a biological metaphor applied to biotechnology management. Innovar [online]. 2004, vol.14, n.24, pp.93-104. ISSN 0121-5051.

This article attempts to analyse managing some biotechnological processes by studying different organisational metaphors, one of them being the genetic management metaphor representing a management model leading to simulating the nature of developing company practice for seeking innovative companies which are more competitive and productive, especially in biotechnology. Developing this new model seeks to show how scientists’ knowledge can be applied to management and how handling information regarding nature can be simulated in social organisms.

Keywords : Biotechnology; management; genetics; organisational metaphors; information system; holograms.
