Abstract

MONTEALEGRE GONZALEZ, José Vicente  and  CALDERON HERNANDEZ, Gregorio. Relationships between attitude towards change and organisational culture: a study of medium - and large - scale clothing industry companies in Ibagué, Colombia. Innovar [online]. 2007, vol.17, n.29, pp.49-70. ISSN 0121-5051.

A theoretical model, founded on Allaire and Firsirotu, Alabart and Portuondo and Hofstede’s approaches, was constructed for analysing resistance to change - organisational culture relationships, contrasting medium -and large- scale clothing industry companies in Ibagué by using a qualitative-quantitative approach employing in-depth interviews and a survey. The results revealed no marked resistance to change but that it did have an effect on this cultural category such as perceiving relationships regarding power within companies.

Keywords : organisational change; organisational culture; resistance to change; medium -and large- scale companies; clothing industry sector.
