Abstract

SAENZ ROVNER, Eduardo. Cuban, Colombian and Chile an participation in drug-trafficking networks in New York during the 1960s. Innovar [online]. 2007, vol.17, n.30, pp.133-144. ISSN 0121-5051.

Drawing on abundant unedited information taken from several north American archives this article studied the development of Cuban, Colombian and Chilean drug-trafficking networks in New York city during the 1960s. The role of people immigrating to the USA was studied, as was the role which foreigners could play in its illegal economy. Likewise, the question was posed regarding why Colombian drug-traffickers have surpassed other nationalities in the economics of crime from the 1960s onwards.

Keywords : drug-traffickers; New York; Cubans; Chileans; Colombians.
