Abstract

CARDOSO ESPINOSA, Édgar Oliver; CERECEDO MERCADO, María Trinidad  and  TREJO CAZARES, Carmen. Evaluating the administrative academic organisation of three MA in Education programmes regarding the parameters established by CONACyT. Innovar [online]. 2009, vol.19, suppl.1, pp.157-177. ISSN 0121-5051.

This investigation was aimed at evaluating the academic-administrative organisation of three MA in Education programmes to identify their characteristics and conditions, as well as their positioning as quality programmes regarding the parameters established by the Mexican National Science and Technology Council's (Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología - CONACyT) Integral Postgraduate Strengthening Programme (Programa Integral de Fortalecimiento al Posgrado - PIFOP). Interviews, questionnaires and inventories were the three instruments used for compiling the necessary information. Such information was organised into Tables and Figures by category and the X2 test was used for statistically analysing the data. The main conclusion drawn was that the MA course in Educational Development satisfied the PIFOP parameters, meaning that it was to be considered as being a quality programme. Even though it has not yet been registered in CONACyT's register of excellence, it is considered to be a programme par excellence by the academic community.

Keywords : postgraduate; evaluation; quality; Masters' degree programme.
