This article attempts to determine whether human resources practices aimed at improving employees' commitment to the company lead to a shared identity that is differentiated from other companies, thus achieving a competitive advantage. In addition to the theoretical justification, elements of the case method have been used to analyze the main objective, thus helping to determine new variables for study while exploring business realities that, through the use of high commitment practices, can achieve better performance and a greater sense of belonging to the organizations. The study also looks at how this has been done. This part of the empirical analysis focuses on the Semco organization, a Brazilian company that has attracted the interest of experts because of its innovative practices in human talent management, organizational design and generation of its own identity as the basis for its competitive advantage.
