Abstract

CARRASCO GALLEGO, Amalia et al. DESIGN AND VALIDATION OF A QUESTIONNAIRE FOR MEASURING THE PERCEPTION ON THE EFFECTIVENESS OF USING ACTIVE PARTICIPATION METHODOLOGIES. THE CASE OF PROJECT-BASED LEARNING (PBL) IN ACCOUNTING TEACHING. Innovar [online]. 2015, vol.25, n.58, pp.125-141. ISSN 0121-5051.  https://doi.org/10.15446/innovar.v25n58.52439.

Numerous works developed around Accounting teaching that relate active participation methodologies to the development of technical and non-technical competencies use questionnaires to support their findings. However, a validation process for the questionnaires in order to guarantee the validity and the reliability of each of the items had not yet been carried out. This study was aimed at designing and validating a questionnaire that measures the effectiveness of the methods used for active participation, specifically those of the Project-based Learning (PBL). The sample used is made up of students of Business Administration and Management signed in Advanced Accounting and Accounting Analysis courses; the observation period was four academic courses. This work examined the factorial structure of the Questionnaire on the Effectiveness of Using Active Participation Methodologies through an exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. Results showed that the structure of the questionnaire is valid and appropriate to measure students' perception about the abilities and capabilities acquired through the methodology of active participation.

Keywords : Confirmatory Factor Analysis; Accounting teaching; Active Participation Methodology; academic performance; competencies development.
