Power cannot be understood without its natural complement: Resistance. This concept allows the interpretation of a great variety of social and organizational phenomena, both historical and contemporary, thus it has received great attention from academia. This paper presents a literature review on resistance in the field of organization studies The results show that resistance is a complex phenomenon studied by a wide variety of approaches, ranging from philosophy and social sciences to management theories, and that it materializes in a wide spectrum of practices and discourses. This work seeks to draw attention to the importance of the problem of resistance in the construction of a critical agenda in the field of organization studies.
