Abstract

OROZCO MACIAS, Andrés Fernando. Social Reality and Narco-Soap Operas. Perspectives of Violence in Young People in Comuna 13 of Medellin. Estud. Polit. [online]. 2021, n.60, pp.204-223.  Epub July 07, 2021. ISSN 0121-5167.  https://doi.org/10.17533/udea.espo.n60a09.

This research seeks to analyze the perspective of 48 young people from Comuna 13 of the city of Medellín on violence based on the social environment in which they live and the narco-soap operas they see on television. The discussion on what is the role of television in the social formation of young people was developed. For the analysis of perspectives, the qualitative model of focus groups was chosen, which allowed the contrast and debate on these areas of analysis. The panorama that pretends to maintain that television influences behavior was questioned and was linked to the historical and social relationship of violence produced by micro-trafficking, organized gangs and justice by own hand, establishing correlations with social reality and not a influence to act as such.
