ARCE SANCHEZ, Alejandro. Transitional Justice from the Excombatants. Social Representations of a Group of Reicorporated Combatants about the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP). Estud. Polit. [online]. 2023, n.67, pp.81-102. Epub 05-Oct-2023. ISSN 0121-5167. https://doi.org/10.17533/udea.espo.n67a04.
This study addresses the social representations that the reincorporated, Ex militants of Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia-Ejército del Pueblo (FARC-EP), elaborate about the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP) through the relation they stablish with the armed conflict, the peace accord and actors such as the State and the former guerrilla. Transitional justice proposes different dynamics than the traditional justice in such as it tries to balance peace and justice as objectives, requiring a more active participation from the perpetrators of crimes in a process that encourages cooperation; this demands from the reincorporated to assume a particular position towards this new juditial authority, as well as their understanding of the process will influence their participation. In-depth interviews were conducted with 11 people in the reincorporation process. Findings show that the interviewed trust in the JEP to get their truth of the armed conflict to be known and contribute to peacebuilding through the imposed sanctions.
