RODRIGO, Cintia. Female Parity Members of Parliament’s Representation Work in the Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Estud. Polit. [online]. 2023, n.67, pp.188-211.  Epub 09-Out-2023. ISSN 0121-5167.  https://doi.org/10.17533/udea.espo.n67a08.

This article aims to analyze the female members of parliament’s representation work. To do so, it considers the cast of female members of parliament from the Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, which was elected when Parity Law 14848 starts to rule. Since it is an affirmative action, the aim is to build an adjusted image of what its implementation means. The methodology combines interviews and observations, addressing the universe of female members of parliament elected in Buenos Aires Province in 2017, the first cast renewed with the new legislation. The notion of representation work focuses on how they represent and what they represent. This work lines with the most recent literature, showing that substantive representation does not univocal. The interests of Buenos Aires province women and female members of parliament are not transparent. Not all of the female members of parliament are related with women's organizations or feminism. The article rethinks the nature of female representation, recovering its descriptive character and reshaping its substantive.
