Abstract

RUEDA, ANDREA  and  ROMERO, EDUARDO. MORPHOMETRY OF SURFACE-BASED COMPLEXES USING NON-PARAMETRIC DEFORMATIONS. rev.fac.med [online]. 2007, vol.15, n.1, pp.110-121. ISSN 0121-5256.

This work aims to show in a didactic way, the most used models for deforming 3D surfaces regarding their applicability to measuring anatomical structures constructed from 3D Medical Images. These models permit great simplification of complex geometries by means of surface mathematical transformations and facilitate comparative measurements in large anatomical studies of complex organs

Keywords : morphometry; surface mapping; surface smoothing.
