Warfarine is one of the most prescribed medicines in the world and when it is well indicated, it is documented the benefit in the prevention of thrombotics events and in the reduction of mortality, although aspects related to the security and with a high rate of complications has limited its use in a generalized manner . In this article we review aspects that generate specific doubts in the clinical practiced related to the dose, the indications, the treatment and the prevention of complications of warfarina, in addition to which we promote the search of new drugs with a more favourable security profile.
