This article explores the role of both experimental social psychology and critical psychology in the process of social change. It presents the broader debate between both versions of social sciences, and subsequently the main issues that differenciate these two perspectives. By describing the differences between both perspectives, this article aims at showing show how they complement each other within an agenda for social change and the construction of more just and inclusive societies. The article describes a turn in the critical legal studies. This turn consists in that evidence coming from the analytical perspective of the social sciences is being used extensively to support a progressive agenda. Finally, the article exemplifies how both perspectives can complement each other in Colombia's research agenda for social change.
