Abstract

CASAS-CASAS, Andrés  and  LOSADA, Rodrigo. Cheers!: On the object of study in political science debate. A brief clarification. colomb.int. [online]. 2011, n.73, pp.145-159. ISSN 0121-5612.

This article seeks to honor the statements of Goodin and Klingemann (1996) concerning the study of and disciplinary work in political science, offering some insights on the debate about the object of study in political science, and taking the opportunity that Colombia Internacional offers us to clarify some issues, that in our point of view derive from Cárdenas and Suarez's critique to our 2008 work. We draw attention on the importance of critical debate and dissent for the construction and progress of a living community that is aware of the relevance of networking, active feedback, diversity of views, approaches and methodologies in order to enhance and enrich the quality of its productions and contribu-tions to global knowledge of political phenomena.

Keywords : political science; discipline; object of study; politics; neutrality.
