Abstract

SANDOVAL, LUIS EDUARDO  and  MARTINEZ BARON, DEISSY. A REVIEW OF STUDIES ABOUT CRIME AND CRIMINALITY. Rev.fac.cienc.econ. [online]. 2008, vol.16, n.1, pp.105-117. ISSN 0121-6805.

This paper analyses the state of the art of the different issues regarding crime and criminality and finds out that such issues originate from individual features. This paper also considers that the possibilities individuals have within society may be beneficial or conducive to crime and criminality given the personal and labor limitations they may find. This paper finally suggests the idea that criminality may be a way of life for those individuals who take advantage of the resources and characteristics certain geographical zones have. Such consideration results useful when analyzing the variables that determine the spatial distribution of crime and criminality in the country.

Keywords : Spatial Distribution; criminality; economy business.
