Abstract

ORTIZ RIAGA, CAROLINA; HERRERA MEZA, BEATRIZ  and  CAMARGO MAYORGA, DAVID. SOCIAL REPRESENTATIONS UPON BUSINESSES IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION STUDENTS IN BOGOTÁ. Rev.fac.cienc.econ. [online]. 2008, vol.16, n.2, pp.161-172. ISSN 0121-6805.

This study intended to identify social representations such as proposals, views, images, and models handled within a business context and at entrepreneur levels by analyzing which of these views and images students entering business schools in Bogotá have. The surveyed population was made up of students from first to ninth semester in 10 higher education business institutions in Bogota - 2 public institutions and 18 private ones -. Findings show that it is likely to identify a series of common or shared nuclei from the characterization in both surveyed groups. Differences are mainly associated to elaboration levels derived from a formative process and experiences obtained and from the shift from empirical business conceptions to disciplinary business formation.

Keywords : social representations; entrepreneurship; education; undergraduate students.
