The process of the transfer process of knowledge and technology at the University needs to be analyzed from a dynamic perspective, as it is recognized as a complex system that provides capabilities that improve performance in the face of competition, that allow the circulation of innovations and generate value for industry. This research aimed to generate a systemic vision of the process of the transfer of knowledge and technology in the university. In order to carry this out, system dynamics was used as a methodological tool and for validation, the case study of the School of Mines of the National University of Colombia was used. Three scenarios were proposed to evaluate the effect of budget reduction, rapid learning and the number of students and teachers dedicated to research on the transfer process. Results were obtained based on the reality of the National University; however, these results are valid for other universities because they reveal that the capabilities of the process are sensitive to the budget allocated to them. The conclusion is that the simulation of scenarios serves to identify the characteristics and combinations that could enhance the accumulation of knowledge and technology assets, process learning and technology transfer capabilities in the university.
