Abstract

This article aims to identify the panorama of studies related to the internationalization of services based on a bibliometric analysis and a systematic review of the literature. For this purpose, a bibliometric analysis was made from the Scopus database developed with the R Core Team 2020-Bibliometrix software, and subsequently a qualitative systematic review was carried out. The results show that there is a growing interest in research regarding the study of the internationalization of services, although it does not have a high level of scientific production. The findings identify the most relevant topics as those associated with foreign direct investment, the service sector, international marketing and business, and globalization, service-oriented businesses, information management, and global trade. With the bibliometric analysis, a positive impact is observed in terms of the scientific legacy of the most representative authors in the world, who generate knowledge on the internationalization of services; followed by this, the added value generated by the various types of services, brand appropriation for internationalization and exports and investments to new markets that generate emerging market strategies in the scenario international is highlighted in the systematic review of the literature.
