Abstract

BELEN ALBORNOZ, María. Cyberculture and the new notions of privacy. Nómadas [online]. 2008, n.28, pp.44-50. ISSN 0121-7550.

In this article we analyze the paradoxes of the new notions of privacy that cyberculture seems to be configuring, from a sociological approach to cyberspace. While off line we are more jealously every day of our privacy and claim our rights when facing the new global policies against terrorism, in the virtual world we lose the capacity to differentiate between the public and the private, aspects that we value when off line.

Keywords : privacy; Internet; Second Life; Youtube; Hi5; cultural systems.
