Abstract

This article attempts the description of the fate suffered by the traditional figure of the author in front of the creative possibilities that the cyberspace and cyberculture have opened. We review the expectations about the matter of the so-called post structuralists (Kristeva and Bajtin), discuss the proposals and provisional findings of hypertext theorists (especially Landow and Bolter); and describe and discuss proposals for a renewed participatory and collective art (Levy); finally we suggest some conclusions and specific actions.
