Abstract

SERRANO A., José Fernando; ARANGO, Ana María; QUINTERO, Fernando  and  BEJARANO, Leonardo. An experience of situated knowledge: DIUC's research group on Young People and Youthful Cultures. Nómadas [online]. 2009, n.30, pp.118-131. ISSN 0121-7550.

This article is a retrospective analysis of Youths and Juvenile Culture research developed from 1988 to 2004 by IESCO, former DIUC. The initial questions, subject matter axes, and their results are the study starting point. A lack of accuracy in the understanding of young subjects from the descriptive logic along this period is noticed. Instead of that, the investigations go to observe the juvenile subjectivation processes. Based on these observations, the knowledge produced by this line is characterized as a partial, local, centered on the body, and critic experience in the field of youth studies.

Keywords : youths; subjectivity; qualitative research; management.
