Abstract

ORTIZ GOMEZ, Francisco. Analysis of the translation and application of the Colombian Constitution to the Curripaco language. Nómadas [online]. 2011, n.34, pp. 119-133. ISSN 0121-7550.

A review of the stages in the history of Curripaco and Nheengatú peoples and their relationship with the state and its religious, civil and military representatives is made here to understand from a cultural and historical perspective their role as peoples since the Colombian Constitution of 1991. During the translation process of some Articles it was established that the socio-economical and ideological practices are amalgamated to conform the current syncretism between indigenous cultural tradition, the experiences of centuries of dependant relationships and the new forms of religiosity.

Keywords : constitution; curripaco; official language; cultural syncretism; Río Negro (Guainía).
