This article is a tribute to the plastic artist Benjamín Jacanamijoy, uaira uaua. The account of some fundamental aspects of his life tends to link them to crucial images and times in his creative process. It is also points out the artist's pictorial and sculptural aim as heir, transmitter, and recreator of deep indigenous knowledge of the inga society where he was born and grew up.
