Abstract

The coloniality of seeing is proper of modernity, so it acts as a heterarchic pattern of domination which in turn determines every aspect of contemporary life. this article is aimed to first: contribute to the study and critics of the visual matrix of coloniality; second: give some tools in order to make visible the place of enunciation of the westcolonial sight; and third: analyze recorded images related to the cannibal, savage, primitive and anthropophagus. Some visual procedures and technologies where inferiorization, objectualization and racialization act are discussed and the relationship between visual production of alterity and epistemological racism are problematized.
