Abstract

The article sets out the implications of two forms of exploring the power of image, updating the Bildwissenschaft (science of image) perspective on the one hand, and criticizing the images presence and production that visibly penetrates enunciation places and socio-epistemic subjectivities, on the other hand, linked to the marketing dynamics ("manifesto of little monsters"). a subjacent (methodical) possible display (situational hermeneutics) is used to question the way in which knowledge from images is produced and how to visually think about that knowledge: its forces, dimensions, representations, and political, social and cultural consequences.
