Abstract

This article states a reflection about the implications of virtuality analyzing one of the most popular forms of entertainment among young people from any social group: videogames. It begins stating that games are agent of cultural change and production, and underlying the relevance of virtuality and simulation as key elements of videogames. The relationship with videogames deeply affects the production of subjectivity, the ways of knowing and understanding our environment and ourselves. Finally, there is a reflection about the implications of studying the world of videogames through an ethnography that is turning into a virtual one.
