Abstract

YANSEN, Guillermina; DUGHERA, Lucila; MURA, Nahuel  and  ZUKERFELD, Mariano. Authority mechanisms on informational jobs: discipline and control in software production processes. Nómadas [online]. 2012, n.36, pp.75-89. ISSN 0121-7550.

Grounded in a empirical fact, this paper aims to contribute to the featuring of authority mechanisms that are deployed in software production processes. Methodologically, it rests in twenty-four in-depth interviews with IT workers, from the city of Buenos Aires. The heterogeneity of the production processes here analyzed, suggest that while control accomplishes a new and important role, in many cases the discipline remains, and it creates relations with the first mechanism, in varying combinations, depending on the observed process.

Keywords : control; discipline; production processes; software; informational jobs; capitalism.
