In this paper we address the question "What are the dynamics and benefits of the collective construction of knowl-edge?" through participant observation regarding the collaborative construction of a paper for the Latin Ibero American Congress of Technology Management, Altec 2011, and through the analysis of its twenty-five versions. The results provide elements for the study of research groups' dynamics from the point of production procedures, considering second-order products.
