Abstract

ESCOBAR C, Manuel Roberto. Body politization: trans subjectivities in resistance. Nómadas [online]. 2013, n.38, pp.133-149. ISSN 0121-7550.

The article researches the experience of the trans body (transgender or transsexual) whose "artificiality" questions the role of the subject in modernity. The study is located in Mexico D.F. and Bogotá. A link is set out between the trans corporeality, the biography and the naming of some subjectivities that tension the modern somatic organization, in both docile and disciplined attitudes, as well as hypersthetic and consumerist. Thus, the individual intervention on a body turns into the macro politization in the public environment.

Keywords : body; corporeality; subjectivity; modernity; baroque; resistance.
