Abstract

PINAFI, Tânia. Illness and psychopharmaceutical drugs: addiction in post-modernity. Nómadas [online]. 2013, n.39, pp.79-89. ISSN 0121-7550.

This article addresses the issue of medicalizing suffering, exacerbated in the last decades with the upcoming of psychotropic drugs. The analysis takes place within the subjective net of the sensibility separation and demand for psychopharmaceutical drugs, setting out from the archetypical figures of zombies and monsters. Finally, the article presents the biopolitical implications of medicalization and psycologization of social matters that intervene with the sensible experience.
