The paper presents the author's approach to Friedrich Nietzsche's work in the context of the paradigm shifting that has take place in the international interpretation of the German philosopher. This narrative interwove the author's life trajectory with his various uses and adaptations of Nietzsche, as well as his relationship with Latin America. The author concludes that, as long as an interpreter highlights certain aspects of a philosophy, and undervalues others, he/she shows and interprets him/herself through the chosen philosopher.
